Blogging in Black + IABW

If you’ve not yet visited the blog, Blogging In Black, I suggest you take a moment and check it out. It’s a great blog that acts as a clearinghouse of articles submitted almost daily by various working authors and publishing professionals like Monica Jackson, Lynn Emery, Vincent Alexandria, Angela Henry, Sylvia Hubbard, RawSistaz Reviewers, pr/marketing guru Belinda Williams (CEO of Literary Lifestyle) and more!

Blogging in Black offers plenty of insight about the ins and outs of the publishing industry and the day-to-day mechanics of writing. If there is anything you want to know about the writing life – you can find it here!

The last five posts just for the month of January include:

To Pen Name or Not to Pen Name
Writing Resources
Deadlines: My Enemy...My Friend
Authors & Public Speaking
Staying Alive: Redefining the Writing Dream

And, if you’re looking for other writing resources, why don't you try joining the following newly established group, the International Association of Black Writers? The group is hosting an unpublished Author Contest (March 15, 2007 deadline) that will allow would-be authors the chance to expose their work to established agents and editors!

I hope you find these resources helpful. Enjoy...and keep reading and writing!

Thanks for posting this information, Michelle. I think both venues will offer writers much needed spaces to not only learn from one another and share information, but to also share our stories so that we can nip a lot of the preying and explotation that is happening in Black publishing and Black commercial fiction in the bud... We'll see.
