Gwyneth on BWB

Check out my girl Gwyneth Bolton's post on Blogging While Black.

On Tuesday, she was interviewed by MSNBC. This was in response to the whole Don Imus kerfuffle. I guess she also talked about Russell Simmons’s recent request that the n-word, b-word and h-words all be banned from music.

YAY!!!! Gwyneth...I'm really happy for her national exposure. As an author and publicist, I know, there's not enough money in the world to buy this kind of great national attention. Gwyneth giving her opinion about a current newsworthy topic is a great way to get publicity for herself and it's rule #1 in the Publicity Handbook!

Anyway...check out her thoughts about Don and Russell, as well as her opinion about authors promoting themselves. What are your thoughts about self-promotion? Can an author go too overboard with self-promotion, to the point that it turns you off as a reader -- or is there no such thing as "too much" when it comes to an author making a name for themselves in an overcrowded marketplace????
